It was exciting to see Sceptred Isle get her maiden win on the board in the  "Flemings Rental Plate" over 1400 metres in front of a huge crowd at Camperdown on Saturday.

Under the expert guidance of jockey Jack Hill  the 4YO Rahy mare was taken to the front after jumping from barrier 11, steadied the field then kicked away to win by half a length.

Camperdown Cup day  is recognized as one of the biggest social events on the Western Districts Racing Calender so it was exciting for the Edwards / Elkington stable to have Sceptred Isle  post a win and also have a close up second placing with Rentrice in the race 2 on the card.

Congratulations and thank-you to the Camperdown Turf Club, Jade Augustine and all those who organized and managed to put on a fantastic, fun and social day with great racing action!!

And huge congratulations to the connections of Sceptred Isle who have been patiently waiting to celebrate their horse getting into the winners circle.

Well done to Jim & Nancy Mann, Peter,Christine & Maddie Sandars (pictured) and Joe Scuderi and Gordon Murdoch who unfortunately couldn't be there to celebrate the win.
