‘Geelong’s Premier Racing Stable’
Group One trainer Jamie Edwards brings more than 40 years of personal experience in racing to Emsley Lodge where he is assisted by his sons James and Darby in the tranquil surroundings of Freshwater Creek, 15 minutes from Geelong.
With owners from around Australia, the stable had its first Melbourne Cup runner in 2015 and has captured Derbies, Oaks, and Cups as well as Group and Listed races in Victoria and interstate.
Jamie’s eye for a horse is second to none with among his notable purchases Hong Kong superstar Helios Express (formerly Tex Mex) who cost $10,000 and has now earned more than $A7 million.
Our first-class facilities on a 25-hectare complex include 20 stables, spacious day paddocks, high-speed treadmill and a testing uphill training track which affords all horses the opportunity to reach their potential.
Variation is our point of difference and horses thrive in the country environment where the stable prides itself on its flexibility to meet the needs and idiosyncrasies of every horse.

We can make the exciting journey into racehorse ownership fun and easy no obligation advice on the best options.
We attend the sales each year and can help owners purchase yearlings and tried horses while we regularly have unraced horses, including some we have bred and raised at Emsley Lodge.
