R1 No.7 Otago Miss in Port Fairy F&M Maiden Plate (1000m)

Josh Cartwright has been riding winners all over the country in recent weeks, including seven in the past two Adelaide Saturday meetings. Today he's riding for his masters Jamie Edwards and Bruce Elkington. Today’s Port Fairy meeting at Warrnambool sees Cartwright jump aboard a couple for his bosses, including first starter, Otago Miss in the opening race.

A Kiwi-bred horse bought for $80,000 NZ at the Premier Yearling Sale, Otago Miss is a half sister to  Group One-placed mare Can’t Keeper Down, unbeaten four-year-old Tie Me Down as well as a couple of other winners. She is bred to stay, so may find these a little slick, but it is well worth watching her progression.
