Freshwater Creek trained galloper Sertorius looms as one of the drawcard runners in this year's Ballarat Cup.

The Jamie Edwards and Bruce Elkington trained five year old, who stretched his winning sequence to five races with an impressive victory on Emirates Stakes Day at Flemington, will be nominated for the $200,000 feature.

Elkington said a decision on whether to run in the listed 2200m event would be made after seeing how the horse pulls up from trackwork this weekend.

Sertorius has won all five races this preparation, including victory in the Eastcoast Plumbtec Sale Cup and in the $100,000 Bluecross Community and residential services Plate on Caulfield Thousand Guineas day and the $100,000 Antler Luggage Handicap on the final day of the Flemington carnival.

The Ballarat Cup is on Sunday, November 25th.
