STABLE apprentice Georgina Cartwright has finished fourth in her first race ride at Bendigo.
Georgina, 22, claimed four kilos on veteran sprinter Canali who, with 60kg from the inside barrier, disputed the lead and fought out Sunday’s Bertocchi Famous Christmas Hams BM70 Hcp until the closing stages.
Canali finished 2.35 lengths from the winner.
Georgina had three rides at Colac on Saturday but the races were called off because of the hot weather.
