London Fog was voted the 2016 Geelong Racehorse of the Year at a gala dinner at the Geelong Racing Club on Saturday night.
The Econsul five-year-old beat nine other finalists, polling 30% of the votes cast by Thoroughbred Club of Geelong members and a seven-member racing panel of experts.
London Fog beat Appalachian Annie (22.86%), Astro Castro (11.56%) and last year’s winner Crafty Cruiser (10%).
London Fog’s stablemate GiGi Girl (3.38%) was also a finalist.

London Fog is the third individual Geelong Racehorse of the Year winner for Emsley Lodge after Lazer Sharp (2007) and dual winner Sertorius (2013-14).
It is not an easy award to win and we are delighted for London Fog’s owners.
“They are a great bunch of blokes,” Jamie said.
London Fog started 10 times last season for four wins, the most of the Geelong Racehorse of the Year finalist. He also earned $102,675 which was the highest prizemoney.
“The Racehorse of the Year is a great reward for London Fog,” Jamie said.
“You would not find a kinder or more beautiful horse than him.”
