Congratulations to the owners of Gaelstorm who were finally awarded for their patience when the 4YO daughter of Bel Espirit won in decisive fashion in the Richardson & Dennis Insurance Agencies Maiden Handicap over 1400 metres at Warrnambool today.
The effortless win for Gaelstorm ended a frustrating string of unlucky placings from her 7 starts this campaign on a strong provincial circuit.
She began well for late replacement rider Damien Holland to be positioned 2nd in early running and showed great turn of foot to quickly round up the leaders and win by 2.5 lengths on a heavy track.
In his post race interview Co-Trainer Jamie said "she has been knocking on the door for a victory and it was great to finally see her win. The acceleration she showed today was impressive and reflective of her work on her home track at Emsley Lodge Freshwater Creek".
